Located in Ontario’s Kawartha Lakes region, Sturgeon Lake is a popular destination for cottage vacations, boating and fishing. The lake stretches between Lindsay, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon and forms part of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The property offers seasonal and transient docking along with fishing-boat, pontoon, kayak, canoe and pedal-boat rentals, making it particularly useful for anglers who don’t bring their own boat.

Fish and Rest Cottage Resort & Boat Rental Marina has more than 800 feet of Sturgeon Lake waterfront and offers one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom cottages as well as RV accommodations.
The resort also rents fishing boats and pontoons and has launching and trailer-parking facilities. This is another property I’d strongly highlight for anglers.
Bobcaygeon Resort

Bobcaygeon Resort offers six renovated waterfront cottages steps from the shore of Sturgeon Lake. Amenities include a sandy beach, docks, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and paddleboards.
Its location is also convenient for visitors wanting to combine lake time with access to downtown Bobcaygeon and Lock 32 of the Trent-Severn Waterway.
Water’s Edge Cottages

Type: Cottage Resort
Water’s Edge Cottages. Bobcaygeon. is another established waterfront operation on the Bobcaygeon portion of Sturgeon Lake.
Its cottages have lake views, equipped kitchens and private decks, while guests have access to a sandy beach, docks, kayaks, canoes and paddleboats. Docking is also available for guests bringing their own boats.
Victoria Country Cottages
Location: Bobcaygeon / South Shore
Type: Small Cottage Resort
This is exactly the kind of smaller independent business we don’t want to miss.
Victoria Country Cottages is a family-owned resort with only five cottages, ranging from one to four bedrooms. Guests receive complimentary dock space for their boats and have access to kayaks, canoes, a paddleboard and paddleboats.
Long Beach Cottages
Location: Cameron / north of Lindsay
Type: Cottage Resort
Long Beach Cottages operates directly on Sturgeon Lake and specifically caters to anglers with fishing packages. Its cottages include equipped kitchenettes and multiple bedrooms.
Important current detail: its website says the marina is closed and boat docking is not presently available, so I would describe it as a cottage resort rather than “Marina + Cottages.”
Eganridge Resort, Golf Club & Spa

Type: Full-Service Resort + Cottages
Eganridge Resort, Golf Club & Spa is quite different from the small fishing camps elsewhere on this page.
The historic estate overlooks Sturgeon Lake and offers hotel-style rooms along with one- and two-bedroom cottages, private waterfront, golf, a full-service spa and dining. Fishing and boating are among the nearby activities.
Wychwood Lodge Cottage Resort

Kenstone Villa Cottages is another smaller waterfront cottage operation on the south shore of Sturgeon Lake. It offers multiple housekeeping cottages with direct waterfront access.
I’m retaining this one in the directory, although I haven’t found a sufficiently reliable current standalone website to give it an outbound link. The current Bobcaygeon accommodation directory still identifies the operation at 801 Kenstone Beach Road on Sturgeon Lake.
Fishing on Sturgeon Lake
Sturgeon Lake is particularly attractive to anglers because several popular Kawartha species can be targeted from the same body of water.
Fishing opportunities include walleye, muskie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, perch and panfish. Long Beach Cottages specifically promotes fishing for these species from its Sturgeon Lake location.
Several of the resorts are also built around fishing. Fish and Rest sits opposite Goose Bay and rents fishing boats and pontoons, while Myriad Fins combines cottage accommodations with an onsite marina and boat-rental operation.
